Time For Print (TFP) Collaboration Policy

Time For Print (TFP) Collaboration Policy

Time for Print (TFP) sessions at Studio Mahoney are creative collaborations designed to produce work that benefits both the subject and the photographer. These sessions are intended to explore artistic concepts, locations, styling, or techniques and are not a substitute for commissioned portrait sessions.

Session Selection

TFP collaborations are offered on a limited basis and are accepted solely at the discretion of Studio Mahoney. Preference is given to projects that support current creative goals, portfolio development, or ongoing artistic work. Submission of an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance.

Deliverables

Following the session, a proof gallery of the successful images will be made available for review.

You may select images from the gallery to receive as professionally edited digital files. The number of final edited images is determined by the quality and scope of the session and is not guaranteed.

Additional edited images, archival prints, wall art, albums, and other products may be purchased through the Studio Mahoney online gallery.

Studio Mahoney retains the sole copyright to all photographs created during the session.

Participants receive a non-exclusive license to use their delivered edited images for personal use, including social media, personal websites, portfolios, and may purchase prints from Studio Mahoney.

Images may not be sold, licensed, submitted for commercial publication, used in advertising, or otherwise used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from Studio Mahoney.

Raw files and unedited images are never delivered.

Studio Usage Rights

By participating in a TFP collaboration, you grant Studio Mahoney unrestricted permission to use photographs created during the session for promotional, editorial, artistic, educational, and commercial purposes related to the business.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Portfolio and website galleries
  • Social media and online advertising
  • Printed marketing materials
  • Studio displays and exhibitions
  • Photography competitions and publications
  • Educational demonstrations and presentations
  • Promotional campaigns and future advertising

No additional compensation is owed for these uses.

Credit Requirements

When sharing delivered images online, participants agree to credit Studio Mahoney whenever reasonably possible.

Credit should include:

  • Tagging Studio Mahoney’s social media account(s) on platforms that support tagging.
  • Including a link to studiomahoney.com when publishing images on websites, blogs, or online portfolios.
  • Leaving any existing watermark or signature intact if present.

Images may not be altered beyond normal cropping for platform requirements. Filters, AI edits, excessive retouching, or modifications that substantially change the appearance of the photograph are not permitted.

Creative Direction

Studio Mahoney maintains full creative control over the concept, styling, posing, lighting, composition, image selection, and final editing. Collaboration is encouraged throughout the planning process, but the finished work reflects the artistic vision of the studio.

Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule. Repeated cancellations or failure to appear for a scheduled session may result in future collaboration requests being declined.

The Spirit of TFP

A TFP session is a collaboration built on mutual trust and creativity. The goal is to create exceptional photographs that strengthen both the participant’s portfolio and Studio Mahoney’s body of work. Deliverables vary from session to session, with the emphasis placed on producing the strongest final images rather than a predetermined quantity.
